There are two ways to participate and provide a holiday gift stocking for a senior citizen.

1.  You can pickup a holiday stocking at the Council on Aging and decorate and fill it with new items for a senior and return it.   Certificates will be awarded for decorated stockings in various categories like: most glitter, most creative and other categories.

2.  Alternatively, you can make a donation and the Friends of the Arlington COA will fill a stocking with items from the suggested list for a senior citizen.

 Our Holiday Stocking Stuffers!

Arlington’s Council on Aging (COA) will be selecting local seniors in need of a holiday pick-me-up. This is a wonderful community expression for those who may need it.  We will supply the undecorated stocking…and you can decorate and fill the stocking with non-edible fun items and practical household items which will then be delivered during the holiday season by COA volunteers between Friday, December 19, and Wednesday, New Year’s Eve day (December 31).

Arlington school students will be making holiday cards which will be included in your stocking for delivery.

Stocking contents are reviewed and vetted before delivery.  This is a wonderful community expression for those who may need it.

To celebrate your decorated holiday stockings, we will announce a gathering before , December 19, with refreshments and awards for several fun categories—as judged by our "Stocking Stuffer Design Committee."

If you would like to participate in this holiday program, you may pick up an undecorated stocking  no later than Monday, December 8, 2013, by 4 PM at the Council on Aging, located on the ground floor of the Senior Center at 27 Maple Street. Once you have filled your stocking, we ask that you return it (decorated and filled) to the COA by Monday, December 15, by 4 PM.
